MindTock operates with a privacy-first local framework wherever possible. We do not maintain external centralized databases of user profiles. To deliver our core accountability challenges, the app utilizes the following native hardware permissions and features:
For alarms using our "guilt-trip" motivational challenge and mid-challenge chat reply feature, MindTock sends certain information to power a personalized response: your stated morning goal, the motivational "trigger" style you selected in your profile, and your typed chat replies during the challenge. This data is processed by OpenAI's models via a routed API service, and is subject to OpenAI's data usage terms. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models, and retains this data for up to 30 days for abuse-monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted (unless a longer period is required by law). Newer alarms that use our on-device trivia question feature do not send any data externally — those challenges are answered entirely from a local question bank stored on your device, with no network request involved.
If this AI-powered feature is ever unavailable (e.g., no internet connection), MindTock automatically falls back to pre-written local content so your alarm challenge always remains usable.
To keep this application sustainable and support monetization, our platform integrates trusted third-party advertising modules that may collect anonymous device metrics to deliver relevant ad campaigns:
MindTock is based in Nigeria, but some of our third-party service providers (such as OpenAI, used for the AI conversation feature described above) process data on servers located outside Nigeria, including in the United States. By using these features, you consent to your information being processed in these locations.
MindTock is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the information below so we can address it.
Data stored locally on your device (alarm schedules, labels, sound preferences, background images) persists until you delete it within the app or uninstall MindTock. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
